Invasive Fauna Management

Thermal Drones and animal surveying

Invasive Fauna Management have pioneered various aspects of vertebrate pest animal control in Australia. As industry leading vertebrate animal controllers, we have our own Remote Chief Pilot and REPL operators. Our thermal drone technology permits cost efficient surveying of large geographical areas and concurrent removal of target species by our operators.

This service includes comprehensive reports and charts detailing animal locations and density including where animals were removed. We tailor the reports to align with the clients specific reporting requirements.

What is more, aviation legislation does not preclude flight over private land, this information can also be gathered for government clients to determine opportunities for community engagement.

Risk management plan for conducting pest control.

Risk mitigation

Our team consists of a Chief Pilot who can operate at night with a team of Extended Visual Line of Sight trained VPAC operators. As our pilot is also a qualified and experienced VPAC operator, dynamic risk assessments are conducted to ensure all back stops are clear prior to feral animal removal.

This strategy places the risk mitigation capability of IFM above the vast majority of other VPAC companies and individuals. We've found that those government and commercial clients who require VPAC work in high risk environments can satisfy internal risk appetites using our mitigation strategies.

Our clients

IFM is currently engaged with several government and environmental agencies on the eastern seaboard of NSW managing various feral animal programs. We also conduct work for NSW School Infrastructure, Sydney stadiums, shopping centres and private educational facilities targeting both avian and vertebrate pests.

IFM also works on several environmental protection programs including but not limited to; Endangered Little Tern Program, Koala Rejuvenation Project,  Wetlands Protection Plan and as a volunteer with WIRES to reduce the impact of mange spread from the red fox to wombats.

Riparian zone or commerical site management

IFM has specialised technicians with current experience in removal of pest animals, including rats, pigeons and other vertebrate animals from riparian zones in industrial estates, shopping centres, carp parks, loading docks, stadiums and rural arenas and factories.

We frequently conduct pigeon and indian myna removal from factory bays and loading docks, particularly where food is loaded and unloaded, as they are attractive locations for pest bird infestation.

We have specialised, calibrated equipment for the safe, damage-free removal of pest birds and rodents from these areas, and where necessary work safely at heights to do so.
